Are they skipping it? Has anyone already got it? I'm quite looking forward to being able to hide about 80% of the channels in the guide, before I get RSI ;-)
I just got a tweet back about asking for this update and it said, I quote "Hi Dave, we don't have any set dates at present, but rest assured BTTV customers should receive an update soon"
So, we "should" receive an update, but no date...time to seriously consider moving back to Sky when my year is up.
Couldn't agree more Impydave. I don't use Sky, but fully understand your frustration. They are going to lose more loyal customer who have been waiting so long now. From reading the comments regarding software update 28.35.0 & also for Talk Talk box still awaiting software to "hide channels". We have 2 BT 2100's & 1 Talk Talk 2nd hand unit & I keep looking every day for ages. I think from at least early/mid August? WHAT on is happening at Youview? Or BT? Don't want to hear excuses, unless there is some concrete answer. The impression I am getting Youview must have problems either with software or Company internal problems? If only BT & Youview would sort themselves out! It's a mess! 2017 must be the worst year for Youview users, might be wonderful for Youview with their "awards achieved" in future ideas. Only way to sum up this situation. Sarah, please kindly chase the "Tech Guys" to release the updates. Or would you suggest requesting refunds for the boxes so that we can spend the money on Freeview machine? With regards Android App. unless you are a Tablet or Smartphone user it really is unfair to keep adding features to this & not release more on the MAIN PVR. Anyone else getting fed up? John
Can't wait for the day when Youview get rid of the dreaded darkened banner when using fast forward/rewind recordings.
. . . I think everyone's busy sorting their boxes out! It doesn't get more exciting than the maintenance mode options. At least at the moment I have managed to resolve sound issues from SD to HD that has been affecting one box for the past few weeks (fingers crossed hopefully!) Software reset seemed to resolve this issue after another attempt. But for a non technical person it must be even more frustrating & annoying having to keep asking someone else to help. Glad I have some practical knowledge to her my elderly mother with her Youview. John

If that means taking up Sky Q you might want to look at some of the Sky Q forums first to see the reported bugs. Sky HD boxes (which you can still buy) are as OK as you could expect. Not bug free but nothing serious (but they don't hide channels either)

Those are some pretty wild accusations John.
You know, I always find it surprising why people who have complaints about their ISP and their ISP updates come onto the main YouView Community forum to complain about it to (or some even scream at) YouView. When a more effective means would be to do it on their own home ISP forum (which in this case is BTs). As where this thread is concerned, it is a BT thread concerning a BT update on BT boxes and YouView have no control over that. Only BT do. Its out there, just not on general release yet.
I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.
Agreed, you need to take up your grievance with BT in your case. It is up to them when they release the software to their boxes. It does work, and works well, so badger them for a response. You never know, it might hurry them up a little, its certainly worth a try at least.

and you never know you could even get an answer today ;-)
Oh p.s. everyone in this thread, if you manually check for software updates this evening on your BT boxes, you're almost certain to get the download and thus be in the first wave of the rollout
