I don’t get both of them +1 channels. So I’m guessing they are on the local mux. I have always had a weak signal from the Edinburgh local mux where I stay.

Sony movie channel + 1 is on channel 50 and Sony crime channel +1 is on channel 69.
I always forget how remarkably useless channel numbers are to anyone looking on the YouView App  :(

Isnt it about time the App provided these?

The BT TV app that I have on my IPad Mini 4 shows the channel numbers in the EPG. So I agree that its about time the Youview app also showed channel numbers in the app. I use the Youview app on my IPhone 6s.
Only thing I don't like about the BT TV app is it also shows some channels on the EPg forthde local mux that my Youview box don't really pick due to always having a weak signal from the local mux.

Does the EPG on your YouView box show these channels?

I would agree that it would be a good thing to add to the app @Roy

@Darren the channels are on the local mux.

The EPG on my Youview T2100 don't show those channels but the BT TV EPG on the app dose. where I stay some get the local mux but with a poor signal. Were as others like me don't get the local mux at all.
My sister who stays just over a mile or so south from me gets the local Edinburgh mux without any problems.

The YouView app, I am told, aligns itself with the EPG of the box it is paired with within 24 hours.

So it looks like the BT TV app, assuming you are paired with it, does not work the same way?

Off-topic I know, but I endorse heartily what Roy said about channel numbers in the app. Is this in @Keith's list at all?

@redchiz - I've added item 122 to the consolidated list of improvements and feature requests to capture the desire for channel numbers in the app. Given including an extra column for a 3 digit number (as in the main EPG) could consume quite a bit of screen area on a smartphone I have suggested this could be an option to be turned on/off and either be an extra column or an alternative to the logos.

    Cheers @Keith

There are many other similar apps that manage, Freesat is a good example:

@Sarah @Keith Could we maybe extract the posts relevant to the app having channel numbers to a separate topic so that we can discuss further and others can more easily offer their support for the idea if they wish?

Yes indeed - let not it be said that I have accidentally hijacked Daniel’s thread.

And while we are there, could we please have another hiving-off to a thread about the BT app seemingly not using the box’s channel list like the YouView app does?

Shuffled it across to it's own thread now :)

The BTTV YouView app has them as Darren has stated (apologies about the picture size and positioning)

@Redchiz - Where did that screen shot come from for Freesat it has a horrible mix of SD and HD...

@scott That's the way their EPG works, similar to Sky, no overall grouping of HD channels.

But they had a straight run of HD channel numbers, just not always the HD logo.

Something that YouView, without the benefit of channel numbers in its app, cannot afford to get wrong.

Ah, looking at the little biddy channel numbers in that Freesat screenshot you referred to, I saw they ran consecutively from 101 to 107.

So I assumed they were all actually the HD channels, though 101, 103 and 104 didn’t have HD in their logos.

But I now know that Freesat don’t number like Freeview, and yes, it is a fugly arrangement  :|

@Sarah latley swift key and Google keyboard has not been working well in terms of autocorrect while typing on the forum however I have been noticing the issues and going back to edit the autocorrect errors. Unfortunately when you split the thread off my post in this thread returned to a state before the edit complete with the errors and I have had to edit my post for a second time when I noticed it so question becomes why has this happened???

@Roy.....you believed "The YouView app, I am told, aligns itself with the EPG of the box it is paired with within 24 hours"
By align, is it meant that the edited channels on the box will be the same listing on the Youview App? .....or something else?
The listing on my app contains all the channels including those I've omitted from displaying on the box.

@Dan Dan - No it is recognised that the edit channels feature that hides the channels on the box is not yet aligned on the APP as it used to be (a pain but hopefully on the to do list :-)). I think this is more to do with certain channels from certain muxes on certain transmitters that can't be received and not showing on the box EPG showing on the APP.
