Using App in other time zones

AllanAllan Member Posts: 3

When setting programmes from abroad, I have tended to first set my iphone or ipad to UK time before sending the programme requests to YouView.

Is this actually necessary or does the system recognise which time zone the app is in and automatically compensate.

(eg it may only be sending a unique identifier so local time is irrelevant)

    Hi Allan,

You shouldn't need to change the time on your device as the iOS app will display the app as it would in the UK regardless of the device system time :)

For reference, the Android app will display the incorrect times however bookings will still go through successfully regardless.

    Hope that helps!

I use both apps in Spain (GMT/BST + 1) and I honestly don’t know which one I prefer, the one that shows the EPG in UK times, or the one that shows the programmes in the local Spanish time  :p
