I had an email today stating now tvs upcoming new app will no longer work with older youview boxes.
It said my account history shows i have used one of these boxes that is becoming obsolete, i only have a dn372t and bt 2100.
I guess this is part of this new recordable option you are describing.
Though i don`t understand why anyone would record on demand programs...
Those are what you have now.

But did you ever have a T1000 that you stopped using and never told YouView about?
Nope, only ever had the two i mentioned.

Posted a snip from the email, not sure if it has appeared or not.

Very intersting development. I sense a change coming. Though quite disconcerting if the T2100 is considered old tec. Where does the dn372t fit into the Youview box chronology? Could that be the box they’re referring too?

Also the nowtv message Dave23 posted only refers to YouView boxes, it’s not BTTV specific

On NOWTV's help pages it explicitly states:

Keep in mind: Older YouView boxes that look like those below (model numbers DTR-T1000 or DTR-T1010) will no longer support NOW TV from December 2018.

That would make more sense. We know they’re starting to phase those early boxes out in terms of software compatibility.

It seems it seems to suggest other boxes will be getting an updated app from December. Will that include other channels than just movies???

I have never owned or used a t1000 or t1010

@dave23 may be worth your while contacting Nowtv customer services about this. I strongly suspect that that message was given to you in error...could be wrong though.

Its not something i am worried about, just thought it was worth a mention on a thread about their new app.
I haven`t subscribed to now tv for about 6 months, but it was handy to be able to use the youview box for movies when i did.

Thanks for sharing. It is interesting.
Obviously something new developing. Perhaps the long awaited full nowtv launch?
