I am struggling to see any detailed release notes on that page, it's a maintenance release, but fixing/improving what? Please let it be the soft HD picture....

Ignore the point on the soft picture, my box has just updated and it is no better so I know that wasn't fixed.

    Hi @stereohaven

We will note in a 'Bug Fixes' section of the release notes page for any viewer facing or affecting bug fixes when we do a release.

This release was a back-end maintenance update which had no viewer facing/affecting bug fixes or changes so we did not make note of these.

    Thanks,
    Sarah

So the BBC iPlayer UHD update wasn’t part of this rollout then? #justasking  ;)

Apps and Players get updated by the content provider rather than us unless it's a feature we integrate in with the player such as BBC start again. Features that YouView add to the box will always be mentioned in the release notes :)

...... or perhaps it’s an enabler for the NowTV deployment??

That was announced over 18 months ago, last I heard was it would be here for the new football season, the one that starts in 3 weeks time.

I just saw this https://community.nowtv.com/t5/Everything-Sports/BT-sport/td-p/491089/page/7 on the Nowtv community. It looks like the BT/Sky deal is a bit of a way off yet from being fully implemented.

IMPORTANT reading for anyone waiting on BT Sport on Sky, and therefore NowTV. This was posted this morning by a Community Manager on the official Sky forum "It won't be in time for the new season starting I'm afraid. It's looking like Autumn at the earliest"

Think we more or less suspected as much given the ongoing deafening silence regarding this.

The threads on this forum can often wander with no harm done and can be quite informative.  :)
I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.

This one isn't a wander mate, it is totally and utterly off topic, confusing for everyone. I'm sure the BT/Sky/NOW TV guff has been discussed elsewhere previously, would that not be the best place do you think?

    Dunno.

It stemmed from @WilfH wondering if this update may have had anything to do with readying devices for NowTV deployment which was announced as being ready in time for the new football season. Since then we have learnt that it is much farther away than that. So, as @Visionman correctly says, the threads on this forum can often wander with no harm done and can be quite informative, the informative part this time being the news posted on Sky's support site. Fairly simple to see how this thread has veered a little left field and it's not too confusing (to most anyway) to see how and why ;)

Sorry for the two or three edits, it's late :)

Just to pull this back round to the original discussion, since this update, the picture output on my T4000 doesn’t appear to be quite as soft as it was before on HD channels.

This may just be my eyesight and totally unrelated to anything you have done to the backend!

I would hope that your eyesight and backend were indeed unrelated ....
