Padding

Dear all at Youview towers.
I'm just going to leave this here for you to enjoy:

https://manhattan-tv.com/blog/t3r-v2-is-here

Specifically, the section on Padding. If they can do it, why can't you?

    @Rob P

Like so many things about YouView, they could, but they just don’t want to.

I was going to post the same links but beaten to it. :(

Seems like a very thought out implementation of padding.

    Yes.

A very simple but clever idea.

Is the YouView box 2100 too old to be able to implement this simple idea?

Manhattan are continually updating their products to keep them relevant in a competitive retail environment.
Youview don't have a retail presence.

Unlikely it's too old but Youview have stubbonly resisted this since Day 1 while others - Manhattan, Panasonic, Sky & I think Humax - do implement it.
Stupid thing is that one of the most mentioned complaints is missed start or end of recordings.

A T2000 & T2100 aren't too old to implement this, but from conversations of old, YouView just won't implement it or do it.
I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.

Thanks, seems odd that it has not been implemented but could be, especially when so many have suggested it. Very odd business logic.

    @ westone

YouView is not, in any sense of the word that anyone needing to maximise their profits would understand, a business.

In all the years of having YouView (since T1000) padding would have been needed about once so I don't see it as such a deal breaker, but each to their own.

I think it's more to the point that youview appear to completely ignore consumer requests to implement such a change.
