YouView box will not playback channel 5 recordings

    YouView boxes have been known to have recording/playback troubles, usually cause by disc corruption and requiring a Factory Reset if the box is ever to work again, but this isn’t usually a selective thing by channel.

    Selective problems like yours can be provider-based, though; previously, we have had UKTV do this for some users.

    To better qualify the issue:-

    What make and model of YouView box?

    What recording(s) (title, date and time) is it declining to play back?

    Who is your ISP,  and is your box on subscription with them?

    Does the box play back BBC, ITV and Channel 4 OK?

    Is this literally Channel 5, or 105, or both, or what?

    How about other channels provided by Channel 5; do they work OK or not?

    BT 91-00438
    The Drowning 3,4 Feb channel 5
    Giffgaff my own box
    box plays bbc itv and 4 ok
    only 5, others not tried

    Box models are DTR-Tnnnn or DB-Tnnnn. I don’t know where 91-00438 comes in to it.

    Its well worth you trying Ch5+1, to see how specific the issue might be.

    It is Dtr -T2100/500G/BT/DF

    Have tried ch5 + 1 and it worked fine!,
