Hi all,

Please feel free to discuss the latest Humax Retail Software Update - Home Screen & Sports Live Events in this thread.

Home Screen will complete its roll out to all T2000 devices and these devices will also receive the Live Events section in the Sports area.

This is not a phased release so all T2000 devices will receive this update around the same time as long as they are connected to the internet.

Thanks,
Sarah

    You can't change the layout. I too hate it.

    But to get to your recordings, it's the 3rd line down. Hit enter on the first icon on this line and you get your normal recordings page

    Ah well, that's it then. My T2000 had updated last night. It's a shame no notice was taken of weaknesses in the new design. The icons on the left that you now have to scroll to see should be more prominent, as they don't look like links to that section, with thumbnails larger than the icon. I can't see any advantage to the new design. The old one acted as a clear contents page of all available sections with no scrolling. Hopefully it will be improved soon, or even reverted to the better old design.

    The new home screen returned to my T2000 after a very brief preview a few weeks ago. I don't find it as offensive as a lot of people. It's just there, it looks no better or worse just different. Moving up and down the interface is incredibly clunky though. Not like a Fire Stick or Netflix on my aging TV which are nice and smooth. Is this a sign that the T2000 cannot keep up with the additional bloat and will be next in line for the planned obsolescence?

    Totally agree about the sluggish drag factor compared to last home screen. Sure I'll adapt to the visual difference even though happier as was.

    It's truly awful and records programmes you watch on iPlayer without asking it to and doesn't allow you to delete them.  BUT if you go to the button on the far left of the recordings, it will go into the old view and you can delete them.

    @Adele

    I seriously doubt that - I can’t record from iPlayer even deliberately.

    So, assuming you aren’t simply misunderstanding what you are seeing, what’s the recipe for reproducing this issue?

    I am not misunderstanding anything.  If you go to the far left of the tv line, you can go into wishlist and delete but if you go on to the recorded programme in that line you can't delete anything that was recorded from iPlayer.   I did not ask to record the programmes I watched on iPlayer but they turned up in recorded programmes anyway.   Sorry, I am not sure what you mean by "what's the recipe for reproducing this issue".   The whole layout is extremely unclear.

    Thanks Stevef, glad I'm not the only one.   I eventually worked it out.   All those options were quite clearly displayed before by just going into the apps or the mytv.  Do you agree?   It's very frustrating to put the tv on and find all the things have updated without warning and instruction.   Thanks for your comment anyway.

    Under the interface, you are not recording from iPlayer. That row is showing anything you have recorded (my recordings) and any series you may have watched on Iplayer all in date order of the latest episode. If you were to click on the icon for that show it will (or should) open iPlayer for that show.

    One of the reasons I delete my watch list so they don't clutter up the TV line.

    @Stevef_fr8ys

    Thanks for clarifying that. It’s not something I have come across, as we tend to use the YouView box only for recording these days, and use the Players directly on the associated TV.

    So if I watch something on the BBC iPlayer on the YouView box, it turns up in that line? That’s dick, isn’t it? It would be like Netflix populating its suggestions with random sprinkled examples of things I have watched, as if I was equally likely to want to repeat something I have just watched as to watch something new 😢

    Thanks Steve, I think that's what I meant.  The bit where you say "That row is showing anything you have recorded (my recordings) and any series you may have watched on   iPlayer ".   Exactly, it shows anything you may have watched without asking it to.  Then you have to go to the wishlist to delete it.  It's totally bonkers.  I always delete the wishlist as well but now you have to go to the left to get to that.   WHY can't they just leave things alone. This is absolutely not an improvement and I will be looking for an alternative to purchase as soon as possible.

    I must admit, I like that it adds what you have watched on a streaming service. It means if I watch stuff on BBC iPlayer and ITV hub, it shows them under mytv, so I can remember what series I've been watching rather than going into each app. It also displays of a series is expiring, so I'm reminded to finish the series.

    I just wish it worked with Netflix and Prime video. I must admit, it could be split into 2 menus, so you'd have 1 for recordings and then 1 for 'continue watching' but I like that it includes them.
