OK, it’s a one-time mistake, and quickly responded to, as @Stevef_fr8ys has done.
But that it could happen at all is something of an indictment of how counter-intuitive the new look is, at least on first encounter.
And it has happened to more than one person who has posted here; and I wonder how many more who haven’t, especially now it is going out to BT box owners, the vast majority of YouView users, who will need help to find their ‘lost’ recordings, perhaps vainly trying to scroll right on the recordings row for them, and then maybe just giving up on the box altogether, in disgust.

Well it's slower to start up, puts a whole load of unwanted cr*p on the screen and totally confused my wife when my T4000 updated Thursday am despite all my blocking.
Hi @Visionman, All technology is "user-friendly" either when you have got used to it or if "you" the user, actually like it/can live with it. I feel sorry for many that have been faced with a "shock" of trying to find their routine changed overnight. It's alright for anyone that knows in advance that there is going to be a change, but rather unfair for other users.
Thankfully, my elderly mother was able to cope . She at first didn't want to know, but when I explained she needed to know more to find her recordings, she was ok. But if I hadn't shown her, like a lot of non-technical users, she would have been lost. I wonder what the next update revamp is going to be? John L
Can't wait for the day when Youview get rid of the dreaded darkened banner when using fast forward/rewind recordings.
@Roy@Tim C @John L, I take on-board all of your comments as/and they are all fair ones. Perhaps I'm the one in the wrong as I've had this G.I. for quite sometime and so have got used to it.
I can see how its totally alien compared to the previous one and it took me a few weeks to get to grips with it but once I did, it became a whiz. But one thing we do all agree on - theres now too much cr*p on the screen that isn't needed.

I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.
@Stephen, How DO the thumbnails work? They are hosted on Humax servers, not the box. But there have been quite a few complaints their boxes are now slower? Is this a cause of the now not inconsiderable amount of thumbnails on screen?

I got to grips with it pretty much straight away; the only thumbnails I ever bothered with on the previous UI were the ones for recordings I had recently made, and I stopped being interested in those when half of them started being for stuff on catch-up, which is dick.
And I could see that otherwise it was just a transpose.
My normal bellwether for UI changes like these is my wife, who normally finds the difficulties if any; but none came to light here.
What I am finding now though, is that people are tripping over the new thumbnails, probably because they are trying to make sense of them, due the importance that their prominence seems to merit, while the real meat and potatoes is in the leftmost icons, unchanged from before, but now apparently downgraded.
One easy fix for this though, as I have suggested before, would be to make them pop when they have the focus, not just go blue, which a thumbnail will do anyway when it gets the focus.

Yeah... thats a really good suggestion. The blue highlight, which puts (hovers) one over a new category, just isn't enough and is most certainly not prominent enough. One also has to remember to press 'Press' 'Press', before one can enter the not so highlighted category. Which also isn't good.

I think the latest update with regard to screen view in Programs and Apps is absolutely ****. It was fine as it was , why change it ?
Very good question. John L
Because YouView wanted to make it look like a streaming service, rather than a PVR. And they were so balls-out to do this that even the thumbnails for recorded programmes had to be interspersed with streaming items.

I don't see why the prime Video app has now been moved to near the end of the apps section behind the likes of milkshake, s4c and the pop player apps. This is not ideal but lest it's still there on the BT Youview boxes. I can see why I been using my Fire HD stick more since getting it earlier in the year but I also need it for Disney +.
Ah yes... Disney+. The all consuming behemoth that wants to consume all, that will shortly pull a load of content (via Fox TV) off Sky as well. Its not good.

Anybody would think it was their content…..

I get what your saying and understand it. If you want to support multinational conglomerates invading British Television (which they already have) you go right ahead.

So you would prefer that they don't make their content available on 'British Television' as you put it.
I certainly preferred the old page- I now have a huge‘Welcome to your local radio station’ banner for BBC Radio Sheffield which I can only hide temporarily apparently- I live in Leeds??

@andyo, Welcome to the forum. What has the radio logo banner got to do with the new Youview homepage update? Nothing! This is something totally different controlled by the BBC radio station. John L

Because @AngieWall, as here, isn’t the first person to be alarmed and misled by the new look:-
