Loss of Freeview channels and HD

Hi, I have got problems with my TV signal. I live in a flat with communal aerial and SKY sattellite on top of the roof. SKY sattelite about 11 years old and not been checked. One elderly lady is having SKY but quality picture very bad. She is over 90 years old. About 2 month ago new tenants moved in and installed SKY, since then my channels have gone down from 150 to 45 channels. Anybody has got some idea why this is happening?

    @Scarlet14,
    Is this a Youview problem? You mention Sky. Have you thought about contacting Sky? They may be able to assist further. Youview is only received via Aerial (same as Freeview). John L
    Can't wait for the day when Youview get rid of the dreaded darkened banner when using fast forward/rewind recordings.

    You are talking about terrestrial TV on a YouView box - is that correct?

    The normal reason 150 channels would drop to 45 is that you are now receiving from a ‘Freeview Lite’ transmitter instead of a ‘Full Freeview’ one.

    But absent such a change, it could be that the terrestrial and Sky signals, which ought to be kept strictly separate, are enmeshed, and both are suffering.

    Your remedy is in two parts; first establish as a baseline what you should be getting, and then contact the building management to get it.

    1) https://www.freeview.co.uk/help
    and work through Problems Watching Freeview and What Channels Should I Get?

    Freeview don’t seem so ready to provide a number to call as they were, or maybe it just goes away for the weekend, but look under Digital Signal Specialists on:-
    https://support.youview.com/useful-contacts/
    to find it and try it on a weekday.

    Once armed with that, if you should be getting more than you are:-
    2) If you own your flat, contact the building management, whose details you should have, or if you rent it, contact your landlord and get him to do that, to have the aerial systems investigated.

    You may wish to join forces with the elderly lady whose Sky has gone bad; and she may welcome your contacting Sky on her behalf, for a two-pronged approach to the problem.
