[Urgent] BT TV Box Pro Software Update 0.5.110

Hi all, 

Please feel free to discuss the latest BT Software Update 0.5.110 for BT RTIW387 devices here. 

This is an urgent software update for BT TV Box Pro devices which includes a bug fix following an issue with Freeview channel changes. 

More information on this can be found on the BT website.

* Your BT TV Box Pro will receive the update overnight, please ensure you leave your TV box powered on and in standby.

    Hi,

    I have two boxes and since the update both show several same/identical issue ie failed recording attempts alongside successful records of the same programme  So for several affected programmes it will have two entries, one failed one successful.   few have just failed without a corresponding successful record.. I guess I could live with it but I’d obviously prefer to fix it. 

      I have tried all the different solutions on the BT site except a complete reset which I’m loathe to do. 

    Any ideas appreciated.

    Hi Jeff,
    Is this occurring on all channels or just specific ones? Some examples of these would be helpful if it's only certain channels. Are you in an area where you can receive more than one transmitter?

    So far it has been confined to C4, C5,BBC1 and seems to be more likely on series link.

    Are those the SD or HD versions of the channels?

    Some examples of channels that always work may also help. Have you an examples of channels that regularly record OK for you?

    Sarah also asked "Are you in an area where you can receive more than one transmitter?".

    Almost entirely HD channels are recorded and I can not  receive any other transmitter and also this problem was extremely rare before the fw update.   The fw update is too new and the number of recordings are too few to work out what is working.   

    In the last couple of days I had the issue on several programmes each on BBC 4 HD, C4HD, two failures on C5, failures on 2 recordings of two different programmes on GB news today (SD) and yesterday, and on 31st January, E4 (SD).  All - except one program - that had a fail, also had a duplicate successful record beside it, all but one listed directly after the fail icon. Put another way, all but one failure didn’t fail completely but seemed to succeed when it Retried”.

    The behaviour wasn’t there except very rarely before the update and to also repeat, same behaviour on two identical boxes.

    Hope this helps narrow it down.

    Thanks for that, Jeff. Can you give us some other examples of content you've tried recording where it's consistently failing or recording twice so we can get some tests set up?

    I haven’t saved any fails so I’m unable to give you names of the failed programmes.  I’ll note them over the next few days.

    I haven’t experienced any programmes recording twice.
