Cannot Sync remote to TV

Hi - I am trying to Sync a Humax DTRT2000 to a B&O 7-40 TV
The suggested code is 014 but this does not work - when I press TV for 3 seconds it lights up and flashes as I put each number in (& flashes twice on the 4) but the TV doesn’t turn off Pressing OK has no effect
Any clues?

    Start the process again but continue holding the buttons down till the tv switches off  could be up to a minute.

    It's a common ( one I've certainly made) mistake people go through the procedure press the buttons once briefly then think it hasn't worked when in reality you have to just keep them pressed till the tv switches off.

    Another thing is in my experience youview codes are normally 4 digits .

    You could also try the code for LG as that might work as well.

    Good luck.

    Pick Humax remote. Press the link in item 1. Note the reference to DTR-T2000. Select Remote Control Code List, and download it.

    The only four-digit code I can find there is part of a product description 😢

    I suspicion that the code-choosing process for the curvy remote (if that is indeed the one in use here) won’t go beyond three digits; but if it did, I would try 1014.

    To be honest don't have any experience of the curvy remote in your link as never actually used that particular remote to link my boxes.

    The only set up I have ever known is hold down both the tv and tv av buttons and enter the four digit code.

    Looking at the tv list of codes I can't see any code for a Bang and Olufsen tv that's why I suggested trying the LG code.(2992).

    @kodikid

    You say ‘the’ list of codes, but there are actually different lists for different remotes, and even the process works differently for different remotes, with some of them able to rattle through possible codes automatically, while with the original curvy remote, supplied with all T2000s, you had to try them yourself, manually.

    It’s quite a stretch though, for a 2012 device to reach back to cover a 2007- onward TV; and while this B&O TV is a thing of beauty that cost an eye-watering sum of money back then, then depending on which Mark it was - there were 6 - it’s possibly before HD Digital, though it should be SD Digital, possibly only HD Ready not Full HD, and the early Marks predate HDMI, though the later ones have it.

    So maybe SCART only, though it might be possible to use an HDMI to DVI convertor cable, if its HDCP is up to snuff, and a separate audio feed.

    That is good detail that you have given.  That it flashes twice instead of just once when you enter the 3rd digit does show that you do have a 3 digit code remote.  This means that if you try to enter 4 digits, the 4th digit will just be ignored.
     the TV doesn’t turn off
    Pressing OK has no effect

    After you pressed "OK" did you try to use any of the other buttons on the remote? It is possible that although the on/off button isn't working for your TV that some of the others do.

    I do have a curvy youview retail remote and the following steps do work if the remote has the TV's code in its internal list.  I just tried it with a Sony TV.  I thing that for my TV it has 9 codes that will turn off the TV. I was thinking that with 9 possible codes for my TV that the chance of finding one within a couple of minutes would be high but it took about 3 minutes to find the first one.

    If the remote does have a suitable B&O code that includes the power button then the steps are:
    1. Press the TV buttons for 3 seconds. The TV button will light on.
    2. Direct the remote control to your TV and press, and keep pressed, the P up, or down, button to search for a code for your TV.  Keep on pressing and don't accidentally change your mind concerning which search direction you are using.
    3. Once your TV turns off press the power on/off button to turn on the TV and try a few of the other buttons. If you are not happy press the same P up, or down, button to search for another code for your TV.
    4. Once you are happy with the code found, press the OK button to lock the code.  The TV button will blink three times if the universal remote control setting is successful.

    @Luke

    I tried that, and it worked for a Samsung TV we have, which we have synced up to now by using one of the published codes.

    And on an LG TV we have where none of the published codes work, it never switched the TV off, which is also what we would expect from your method.

    So where did you find this method? It certainly wasn’t from:-

    where there is not a sniff of it 😢
