Given all the above, I might have a similar problem. I have a BT dtr-t2100 box but my ISP is TalkTalk, It hasn't updated yet. Is it likely I just need to wait for the rollout to complete, or could it be that I won't get the update unless it is attached to BT broadband?

If Now TV were ever fully included in Youview, the universal search facility would make it far easier to use as part of the overall viewing and content finding experience than a separate box. I do have a separate Now TV box, but its search facility is very poor, even ignoring the fact it isn't integrated into Youview.

It does, however, help if you're a bit of a geek so can understand how to fix any issues that might arise, and how to set up the control in the best way. There are always people like me on this and the Harmony forum that will help though. Though there technical support is usually good and responsive.

That's the newer upgraded version of the smart control, with a remote control that has extras buttons for controlling things like automated lighting etc and better placement of the pause, play, rewind etc buttons. I purchased the older version, for example:…

Good point, I like that!

If you bought some sort of universal remote, at least you might get something that replaces multiple remotes for your money. Personally I use a Harmony Smart Control - they're great but a bit expensive - it works well for me because I have quite a few boxes to connect to and a TV and AV receiver to control.

Roku has universal search - but that can't include live channels, and I don't know if it includes catchup players? So for me, the search facility on Youview is better than Roku. If only Youview included Amazon Prime! As suggested in my post below, for me, especially when purchased at a discount, Fire TV alongisde an…

I've returned to Youview, leaving Sky after 2 years, but getting Now TV as well. One reason for doing so is the excellent integrated, backwards EPG and search facility of Youview. I also have Fire TV stick for Netflix and Amazon Prime. For me, Youview will be my main go-to box, except when I specifically want to watch a…

Since I'm with TalkTalk - I can search for content that is on Sky via the EPG and the search facility, but then watch it on Now TV. See my post below for more on this.

I was one of the early adopters for Youview via TalkTalk - though I upgraded before long to a DTR-T2100 box. I was quite busy on this forum and even visited the Youview team in London. When I moved house, for various reasons, I dropped Youview for Sky TV. That was 2 years ago. Initially I was quite skeptical about Youview…

I've just decided to return to the Youview fold, having dallied with Sky TV for a couple of years (for various reasons). Sky TV is too expensive, so I've decided to stick with Youview (from TalkTalk but with a DTR-T2100 box), and Now TV to provide my main channels. I'm highly unlikely to use the new Now TV with freeview…

Sorry to resurrect this thread. I haven't used my Youview box for 2 years, but have now gone back to it. I'm on TalkTalk still, but using DTR-T2100 box. I have upgraded to a Harmony Smart Control remote. The MyView command still works, but the OnDemand command goes to the Discover TV section. Is the OnDemand command…

What better hardware?

I have had a lot of success and been very impressed with a "YouView SKY Wireless connecter" (for example listing 330847568617 on Ebay costing £15.99 including postage). Similar to the above idea, so easy to use - once set up on a PC you just plug it into the Youview box using the supplied network cable and USB cable (so it…

Just checked that - for some reason it freezes with my Harmony 700 remote (unless I have a pause of at least 0.5 second), but not with my Harmony One remote. That's on Huawei boxes. I will have to investigate further ...
-
I found I needed a 1 second pause between the macro steps, else the EPG did freeze.
-
Thanks - and yes I'm doing what you describe, but am using a macro for Youview / MyView. I'll check if somehow the box is not first receiving the Youview command.
-
It does not play the recording when pressing the button, but the MyView EPG otherwise continues to work as does everything else on the box. Does anyone know of the best way to reset etc the Huawei box hopefully without losing recordings and scheduled recordings?

Just a further thought - it would be best if the user could choose two or even three "Eco Mode WIndows". That' is because many people will watch tv in the morning, be away from home for up to 10 hours, watch tv in evening and then go to bed. So there are for many people at least two windows when energy could be saved by…

I've found a new bug related to this topic. To work around the other bug above, the option from Piers (works best in my opinion) is to press Youview before the discrete MyView command. However, I have found that if the above buttons are pressed too quickly then MyView does not respond to further button presses - the only…

This option works well for me on my Harmony remote - except, see my new post below.

On my Huawei box, the disk drive does keep running in Low Eco mode (but is off in High Eco Mode) - there is no fan.
-
That's the same as my hybrid power mode idea - see link above form Keith. Perhaps you could visit that link and support the idea?
-
Can someone comment on this for Youvew - progress on further improving boot times since October seems to have stalled. In that case, surely ideas such as this hybrid power mode and / or additional power modes surely need to be seriously reviewed by Youview? Surely this hybrid power mode would be easy to program and…

Regarding the bug that causes MyView to be exited when using direct access to MyView when pressing OK a few times (instead of going back to the previous screen), I have noticed that if after pressing the "MyView" button I press Up Arrow instead of OK, then the bug does not happen. However, I like to press OK so as to go…

Normally a frequency of 50Hz is needed, but the box sometimes defaults to 60Hz. There is a "HDMI Display Setting" option available on the Huawei box TV and Signal Quality menu. You can choose from 720p, 1080i and 1080p. Chosing one of these options also automatically sets the frequency to 50Hz. The problem might be getting…

I don't know - if you have an account username and password fro MyHarmony.com have you tried using that at members.harmonyremote.com?
