The Britbox app sucks on YouView! It works fine on other platforms. It is very slow on YouView, but used to work. Now it's very slow and rarely works first time requiring two or three relaunches before it plays a programme. John

Indeed @Roy, Fritz! boxes are a little pedantic. I have one behind my TV (used mainly as a switch - Spot the YouView boxes.)

@Roy , I wouldn't worry about the dissabled DSL message. @glee has already told us that he accessess the internet via FTTP, so he wont be using DSL. ;) John

I'd recommend substituting Stephen Fry with George Forman for a healthier option. :D John.

@Sarah , Everything that's been said above, and my very best wishes to you for the future! John.

Since the incident at Red Bee Media I am also experiencing problems with AR on C4. I'm currently series recording:- GBBO 24 Hours in Police Custody Taskmaster The latest two recordings of GBBO started late! And both 24 Hours... and Taskmaster stopped short last week (I've not yet watched this weeks 24 Hours...) The…

@keith16 @Roy I can confirm that this problem exists on both my T2000 retail boxes. It is particularly noticable when quitting an app to return to broadcast TV. I tend to use headphones late in the evening, and although the "crack" of sound is brief it is at full volume which is painful when wearing headphones! The problem…

Way back in the early seventies when I was in my late teens I had two pairs of cords. In my head I thought I cut an elegant style, in fact I still do. However, the style in those days was extremely tight and the cut was rather revealing, and for those reasons no one on this forum is going to see any pictures of me in said…

Hi @Michael Lucas I've just tried several episodes of Grange Hill S4 and they all play OK for me on my YouView T2000 retail box. It might be worth signing out from the app and Signing back in again to see if that helps. Your account page in the app should also show the app version (5.1.0-35 build 35 is what shows for me),…

Hi @colinrmackay47 and welcome to the forum. Have you tried changing the batteries in the Youview remote? John.

And there's nothing like adding a little flux to keep things moving! :D John.

@Roy @jonesh As far as I can tell it looks like YouView aren't presenting the old MHEG stream on BBC TV channels. As we all know, both the TEXT and RED buttons work as they should on any channel that has a compatible MHEG stream, but why would YouView want to prevent this happening on BBC TV channels on their STB's?I…

@Roy The old text service is alive and well on Samsung TV's (or on my 2015 TV at least). The "Not Available" message usually means the TV is busy setting stuff up.If you tune to a BBC TV channel (HD/SD doesn't matter) and wait until the "Press Green to view from the start" message appears in the top right of the…

@Roy To see what YouTube is sending go into settings>general and enable "stats for nerds". When you play a video you'll get - well, stats for nerds :) John

Hi @"John L" Certainly during lockdown YouTube throttled back the resolution to allow more people to access at a lower bitrate. Not sure whether they have restored YouTube to normal operations yet.John.
