Failed to record Match of the Day, Saturday !!!! Humax FreeSat & 11 year old TiVo box recorded fine. So glad this is not my main recorder and is relegated to kids play room !!!!

Used to love my TiVo, when TiVo supplied the guide data, as it had about 21 days future data. Fantastic for when going on holiday for a fortnight.

Thank goodness I am not using YouView as my main recording box !!. My 12 year old TiVo managed a successful recording (with padding) as well as my Humax FreeSat box.

That will be quite handy, as there are quite a lot of people who can't get satellite due to blocked view to the sky and are in poor Freeview areas, but have a decent broadband connection.

It was Heston's Fantastical Foods on C4 HD, last night, was 15minutes in and rebooted. Came back up OK and now has folders for recordings and the most silliest crapiest way I have ever seen in selecting what channels appear in the guide. Programme available via Mr Torrent with no stupid 7 day restrictions. Sorted.

Can't really believe history is repeating itself. The original UK TiVo was launched in 2000 and it had no padding as it used PDC (programme delivery control) to time start and stop times. This is how the Humax FreeSat adds padding, set via setup -> recording. Applies to all subsequent recordings. ooooo oooo has a setting for skip forward (120s default), how wonderfully useful for skipping adverts and start padding of recording starting early and completely absent on YouView box. :( This is how the TiVo did…

This is where "soft padding" comes in, like on 11 year old TiVo. Only add padding if it can. I suspect the Humax Freesat box does this as well, only adds padding if it can. Better to lose beginning/end of a programme rather than cancelling another programme, especially as there is no recording history on the box of why…

Not when its last weeks Eastenders.....The 7 day backwards EPG is rather limiting. Thankgoodness my 11 years old TiVo recorded it and thank goodness for Mr Torrent who has more than 7 days worth available

Has some more Eastenders failed again....though did record Red Dwarf with beginnings and endings. Not good. If my wife had had her way this box would have been straight back to shop as missing Eastenders is not allowed.
