Very little marketing of BT TV going on right now. A relaunch is just marketing speak/jargon for a new aggressive marketing campaign. It should be much easier to make the TV service more appealing with 4K HDR, Dolby ATMOS, WiFi, YouTube, etc At the moment you need to use a 3rd party device to enjoy BT TV in higher…

I'd be surprised if it wasn't, but you never know. https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2019/10/isp-bt-preps-uk-pay-tv-relaunch-with-new-wifi-set-top-box.html

Yes my T2100 is updated. Looks like they haven't started sending this to T2110 boxes yet though. The last series of updates came to both box versions at the same time so I shouldn't expect a huge wait.
-
edit: saw your box version. BT retail boxes often have a later rollout time. I purposefully bought a T2100 for this reason.
-
Nope. You get the same IGMP issues on the retail boxes. Not everyone uses the box supplied by the ISP to watch their Multicast channels. I'm amazed anyone who subscribes to Talktalk TV uses the Huawei boxes. I used a retail T2000 on Talktalk TV. The channels played much better but suffered the same IGMP issues with…

Still broke. Refuses to series record Match of the Day, Match Of the Day 2, and SportScene.
-
You would expect that, but it frequently isn't how some Youview boxes operate for some users. I myself have had a weak signal message repeatedly bug me despite the picture remaining perfect. I've seen many others report the same.

Following the instructions on the link Roy posted above my T2100 doesn't have the 4 Short Trek episodes but my Nvidia Shield Netflix app does. The T2100 has the correct "Trailers & More" section but it only shows 7 videos available, while the Shield TV app shows 12 videos available.

That's a poor argument for the customers who were provided a box by Talktalk. What about those who weren't, who owned their box before joining and have had this fee thrown upon them. They did not sign up to anything TV related and were always able to contact Talktalk and request TV boosts. To charge them this just for…
-
Well done! You still haven't said what is inaccurate about it? If a customer who owns a Huawei YouView box joins Talktalk and takes a broadband package with no TV and has their price increased by £4 a month without being asked, and receives no additional services what so ever for it, how is that not charging them…
-
In what way was it inaccurate. The thread remains with that (accurate) title so if this was some attempt to cover this shambles up it failed.
-
Threads have been merged with the title still making out this is a good thing from Talktalk. Will I repost with the correct title and link to here or are you going to edit the title? This is an absolute outrage and there should be a prominent thread on YouViews forum about it. edit: nvm I see the original thread title…

Talktalk this month introduced a £4 a month charge for customers who had previously taken a free YouView box as part of a TV package wether they subscribe to ANY TV services or not. They are calling it a "TV Access Fee". It's ok though, you can opt out and keep everything exactly as it is. WTH?!? Have a look at the TV…
-
No, read that again. That's not a customer from when TV was bundled in, that's a customer who migrated to Talktalk in November (only 2 months ago) and took out a broadband/phone only package. Simply for having a Huawei branded YouView box they have been "opted in" to what they call "a TV access fee". The YouView box…
-
Which is what Talktalk customers did, only to be charged £4 a month 4-5 years later.

New twist on this.... brand new Talktalk customer who just migrated, never had TV from them, owns a YouView box.... yes... they are charging them £4 a month for the privilege of owning a YouView box. 2 cases appeared today, at least 1 a Humax box. Any comment from YouView on this? Sarah? Any YouView customer who switches…

Are you being serious or sarcastic? You can't honestly think what that rep just said is okay? The part in bold is the ONLY thing they are paying for. That's absolutely shocking.
-
I did search... thread title and opening post appear to be praising Talktalk. Given that I read about this tonight I had no intention reading a thread praising them. Oh well, now there's a thread that's properly titled that's linked to that discussion.

Long post... If you or anyone else has an issue using Huawei equipment to use the internet then I suggest they don't use any ISP that uses the OpenReach network. The fact your router is a Huawei is a very small link in the chain. The vast majority of their FTTC/VDSL2 DSLAM's (fibre street cabinets) are Huawei.…

My T2100 doesn't make any noise. My T2000 (which I think is a refurb, that was sent to me by Youview) clicks away like there's no tomorrow when recording. I moved this unit to my bedroom recently but my partner is having none of it. She can't stand the clicking through the night, even when the box is on standby. We have a…

The Plusnet provided box does not have Amazon Prime Video. I have Amazon Prime Video on my BT Youview box (Humax T2000) with Plusnet as my ISP. The software and the apps on the box doesn't change with ISP. Specific features and Apps are box model specific. Only the colour scheme/theme is different between ISP's. Youview…

Half decent SHIELDED HDMI cables fix this. Either that or keep the aerial and HDMI cables as far apart as possible.

The reasons why many channels don't wish to offer the "watch in HD" option is probably advertising related. Many micro regional adverts are only broadcast on the SD channels. It's more national on the HD channels. Certainly with STV (ITV in Scotland) there are 4 distinct (I believe it's 4 but may be more) micro regions…

You'll need a managed switch that does multicast. What you have are unmanaged stitches. As Roy commented this means they flood all ports with the multicast traffic. Multicast is a funny beast. My Asus router counts all my YouView streams as upstream traffic. I had to install a modified QoS script on my Asus-wrt Merlin…

The changes on Craigkelly were for very minor relay stations. Newbattle covers a few hundred properties for example. This affected a single PSB MUX on these minor relay stations. The main transmitter and the bulk of the changes (6 MUX's) happens on 3 October. I see 2 problems. The wording on the YouView website implies…

Almost always the powerline adapters. I had the exact same with a cheap 300Mb pair of BT powerline adapters. A new set of (expensive) powerline adapters fixed the problem. I couldn't justify the ridiculous cost so returned them. Setting the box up with a wireless bridge since I've had no such issues. I use a…

The rollout is complete on your box model. Can you check you have a working broadband connection on your box and try a manual update?
-
You would need to speak to the retailer on Amazon where you purchased your box, get a refund, then purchase the box with the feature you want. I'm not aware of specific box models that cache the EPG and others that don't ds perhaps you could share this info?
-
The rollout isn't complete. As always they are phased rollouts. There is absolutely nothing that can be done to speed up your box receiving the update.
