Just re-installed the app (over the top of the previous version as I did earlier) and it's working correctly, no duplicate channels. Make that what you may. Not re-booted or cleared the cache/data. Just did exactly the same as previously.

previous version worked fine, so I've rolled back to that. Might consider uninstalling and installing from fresh, but now right now.

Oh dear, I now seem to get duplicate channels when viewing the guide... :-(
-
If you haven't done so already, I'd do another channel scan. I tend to adopt this approach after software updates and it's minimised my recording failures.

At Christmas I replaced our old Sony (now relegated to the back room) with this http://www.johnlewis.com/panasonic-viera-tx-l32e6b-led-hd-1080p-smart-tv-32-with-freeview-hd/p424246 Very pleased with it and people who visit always comment about the excellent quality of the picture. Don't use the apps that much and agree…

Channel scanning and Microsoft Windows Updates - between them you can waste your life away. I tend to ignore most YV messages about new channels as most major channels changes would be seen elsewhere in the media.

Thank you for the Crids Wiki link (now gone). I did start to read it but came over very tired and confused - I'll leave it for now. Looking at the EPG for London Live channel it seems they like to repeat programs so hopefully with Google Calendar Alerts to my mobile I should get to see/record my program.
-
what is a Crid ?

I've now got the update and noticed that when I switch on the YV box it automatically switches the TV over to the AV channnel. Prior to this update it never happened as the family used to scowl about having to do it (it worked on our old Humax 9200T). There, that's a positive comment about the update !

I'd still like the option of not receiving updates. At the moment my Yourview box (retail) is stable on release 17.3 and I'd like to keep it that way. The only problem I have is that it seems to update itself to the same release every night, but as it still continues to record correctly I've no intention of trying to fix…
-
Thanks for the response. Having gone a day without an update, I can confirm it has now updated (overnight) to release 17.3.0 Will keep an eye on it over the next few days.
-
Right, thanks guys.

I discovered I had far less failed recordings when selecting programs broadcast on the HD channels. Could be sheer fluke , but the success rate definitely improved. I also have a ritual of retuning the channels following a software update. Obviously this isn't something I expect should be needed, but again I saw a definite…

Checked the box this morning and all last nights recordings worked and are still there. The box says the software was updated this morning (5th Feb) although the only difference I can find is the ISP Configuration has changed from 83 to 84.
-
I don't know what the actual version numbers were prior to this morning on my retail DTR-T1000 but right now it says Manufacturer software - 16.4.0 Component software - 2.2.8 Platform configuration - 830 ISP configuration - 83
-
And for a moment this morning I was all alone in my problem! James couldn't have written my experience better (apart from me being on a retail DTR-T1000) and got it word for for word. I've just tried another reboot in the hope of recovering 13 months worth of recordings but without success. My box received the Jan 2014…

Eco mode is the one where it starts up quicker (can't remember if that's high or low). I didn't lose any recordings, it just failed to record what was scheduled.
-
Phil, Yes, these were scheduled prior to the update. It's not the first time this has happened following an update, unfortunately I was pre-occupied all day and unable to conduct a channel scan. It seems that a previous scheduled recording has worked ok this morning. So the channel scan and hard boot has resolved the…
-
Personally I'd like to see a notification that an update is available and give me the choice on if I'd like to apply it. The amount of moaning I have to put up with from other members of the family when a recording fails is testing my patience!
-
Update was delivered automatically Tuesday morning. All scheduled recordings failed that evening ! I've performed a channel scan and hard boot of the system. Hopefully things will be ok tonight.
-
Yes it was before the update, but seems part and parcel of being a Youview owner! Pretty annoying, but to be fair hasn't happened for a month or so.
-
Updated overnight and greeted by a bright pink screen this morning. A flick of the switch at the back of the unit seemed to sort it. Not tried any of the features/fixes as last nights programs failed to start on time. Both programs (The Call Centre and the one about Routemasters) seemed to commence recording 53 mins into…
-
I got the email notification this morning and when checked my box (Humax Retail) I was surprised to see it had already been updated overnight - normally I have to wait 1-2 weeks to get the updates.
-
I would also like to see the option of disabling automatic updates. In the event of a bad update being released this could stop the situation getting worse. Plus over time a feature could be released that people are unhappy with - I recall years back on the Topfield / Humax where 'series link' disabled the auto padding…
-
Checked this morning and update received and applied automatically overnight (humax retail box). Did a re-scan of channels (habit) and all seems fine (if a little sluggish to respond to the remote). Not tried the FF skip button yet or any of the on-demand players. Not sure about the implementation of 'filters' to the…
-
I also use the Harmony 300. I seem to recall the only additional button I had to program was the 'delete' button (picked bottom left as easy to remember)
-
If only the app would show all programs set to record in the EPG regardless of whether they were set via the app or the box. Can't seem to work out how you cancel a recording that you've just setup ? In my view this only adds to further 'failed recordings'
-
I agree. It does seem to happen far less than previously and the skip doesn't seem to be as fast!
