Hi, clear by reading between the lines isnot the same as an actual statement and nowhere in that text does it say youview on the Sony TV will be able to record. However Phil statement that they are working on it is clear.

Hi Phil Can you confirm anything around the ability to record using the Sony TV Youview implementation. All the notes look to say this will be disabled which for me and i think many others is a instant no go on purchase ?

So i just read on engadget that the one box that said it had no plans to support teh XB1 is one of the few that works. So why not go the extra few feet and let the youview and XB1 boxes play nice with each other

Im in agreement with Peter , i think if youview asked they may find the issue is more widespread but most people are either not aware of these forums and/or twitter or don't bother to complain possibly assuming its a broadband issue.

I'm also getting buffering and in nearly every case disconnection issues in YV iplayer , i get the message this content is not currently available but if i restart the program its fine (though i have to skip to the point i last watched, a play from last point option would be good here) BT infinity 80mb down /20mb up

True but put a tad harshly, and saying its not a youview issue isn't strictly right. The increased cost isn't a youview issue but they could have developed it at the same time if they had wanted to, however dumping it out on IOS first does allow for faster to market testing of features which means basically the IOS guys…

i run openelec much faster booting. YV gives me a good solution (read family friendly interface) for freeview viewing / recording and one stop access to the on-demand stuff without me having to go through separate addins and t the fun of setting up a back-end server , its something i may move to as and when we get more…

@Dave71 yep thats the way i see it working perhaps the back button could be used to return to the originally playing channel/recording

Your right its a tad small :) so this may entail a larger change that i had envisaged though i haven't had the October update so im not sure if that made any changes to the size of this

personally id prefer some sort of direct network access and library function along the lines of what XBMC do but that would also involve some expansion to the file formats the box will play and possible complaints from media creators. I have a youview box but the pulse-eight purchase of tvonics may bring my one box nivana…
