How odd... this is the second time this week such a problem with the T4000 fan has been reported. Certainly, when the box was first released, the fan would run all the time (even while in standby). Either something has changed recently in the software updates, or (more worryingly) there’s a bad batch of boxes out there…

Hi @Sarah I will schedule that series record now - however I'm not sure it will be particularly helpful for further testing, unless the schedule changes between now and then. I've not encountered any such issue with other scheduled recordings recently. I have regular series records on several other channels, which have…

Very odd that you're experiencing this... I deliberately unplugged the fan on my T4000 a few years ago, and I've never encountered such an issue. But clearly from your testing, heat does seem to be the cause of the remote issues. I'm pretty sure the fan is still supposed to run on T4000 boxes. So perhaps it's a hardware…

Hi @Sarah It was a series record for MotoGP on BT Sport 2 HD. At the time I looked at it (Friday 13th), the scheduled recordings list had two entries listed as "scheduling problems". These entries were for sessions that weekend, but with different timings than those in the guide. Incidentally, the series link had not…

Thanks @Roy - fixed. I should also mention that this method could technically work with a Humax Freeview/Freesat remote as well, so long as you changed the remote to one of the different IR code sets.
-
If you're happy to buy some extra hardware... then I have a setup you might like. Buy a FLIRC usb dongle (https://flirc.tv/more/flirc-usb ), and a TalkTalk YV remote (or anything other than a BT or Humax one). The FLIRC dongle can be programmed to accept IR signals from a remote, and then send keyboard commands to whatever…

Hi @Sarah - on the topic of clash management, there's another situation that could do with addressing: scheduled recordings for programmes that are later removed from the guide When a scheduled recording in the future is removed from the guide by the broadcaster, it remains in MyTV as a "scheduling problem". However, one…

More interestingly, the Sagemcom is still identifying as 'YouviewHTML' in the useragent string, whereas the Technicolor (which is known to be an Android based box) does not. The Wifi certification states that is runs a Linux-based OS, also lending support that it is still a Youview-based (if not branded) box.…

There really needs to be a hold option on the jump to time feature, similar to the hold to restart, I case the buttons are pressed inadvertently. Watching MotoGP this morning, I accidentally hit '9' while picking up my remote, thus jumping straight to the end and spoiling the result. My fault, but it would be nice to have…

Thank you Sarah for passing this on. I’m not sure why people keep pushing me towards BT for this. I’m quite happy that I’ve raised this bug report with the software in the correct place. ;)

John, I appreciate you taking the time to respond. However, most of what you have written is simply unrelatable to this issue. My opening post should have enough detail for @Sarah and the team at Youview to pick it up and follow through on it next week.
-
Confirmed - watching it now on my T4000. Oddly, *something* is causing my TV to reconfigure when I start and/or stop the stream, but I'm not getting any sort of HDR. Anyone know if there is supposed to be HDR on this feed via Youview? The only other time I see my TV do this is when it switches to/from HDR mode on the…
-
Hi @Sarah, No, this did not go ahead. My box showed it had already been recorded - which was the original 8 minute recording.

Hi @Sarah. My box is a T4000, currently running component 3.3.152, manufacturer 29.58.0 softwares. Le Mans was a 24 hour live broadcast scheduled as multiple program parts across the 24 hour period of 16/17 June. The two periods in question, 11pm-2am and 2am-8am, were scheduled as two parts of this, and should have been…

@Roy - Whether the regional news itself is HD or not isn't the problem. The expense come from creating, maintaining and distributing the 20 regional variations of the HD channel required to bring even upscaled content to the correct viewers. To be able to even show upscaled regional news they have to: 1) Upgrade all the…

Avoiding the double upscaling of SD content is one of the reasons I bought a T4000 last year. My old T2100 would upscale to 1080p, and then my TV would upscale that to 2160p. Thankfully I can’t see any difference on HD content between the box and my TV’s upscaling, so I leave the box in 2160p all the time.

Nah, just curved.
-
It seems to have sorted itself out after leaving it running for a few hours.
-
Already got it on my 4K box. However, I'm now seeing some channel/player logos and programe images jumbled up! Power cycle hasn't helped.

http://www.a516digital.com/2016/11/tv-adverts-to-go-interactive-from-later.html "The first of a new generation of interactive adverts will hit UK TV screens soon, with Channel 4 confirming their arrival later this month." "The first adverts will launch on Roku devices later this month giving viewers the option to choose…

There's been some changes to those stations. They've moved to a different multiplex ahead of tommorow's retune, and their old versions have been moved to the 790s. Best advice: Do a full retune tommorow at about 4pm-ish. Don't rely on the Youview box updating itself - there are a loads of changes that are/have been…

Happens to me too, on both my Samsung and LG tellys. Rather annoying.

The number of LCNs available to YouView IP services will be increasing next week (from 400-599 to 300-599) with the 3 September retune. Sometime after this, it is expected that YouView will reshuffle the IP channels to fill this new range, providing much needed extra space in some genres. This should mean that channels…

Are you watching the HD channels by any chance? The HD channels don't have red button capability at the moment. Regardless of what is causing your issue, you can still access the streams manually on channels 301 (evenings only) and 302 (not Freeview Lite).

Not sure it'll be a big hit for TT subscribers. Assuming the PAYG model follows NowTV's £10 Day Pass, any more than two uses in a month and you may as well take out the £30 Sky Sports package.
-
That's Al Jazeera English on channel 83 (108 HD). Al Jazeera Arabic launched on channel 84 this week.
-
To add to what Peter has said, and to clarify a misunderstanding, the DTT channels available over the air are nothing to do with YouView itself. YouView is just a platform which can receiev such transmissions. While DTT is at near full capacity, I certainly welcome the channel to the platform. It's a first-come,…

Like Peter, I don't have IP channels either. That's an interesting detail, and the most probable cause of this issue.

There are two paors of buttons on your remote. One pair is the traditional (◄◄) rewind/fast-forward (►►). The other pair is the skip (|◄◄) back/forward (►►|) intervals you describe. Hope this helps.
