So I just ran into this issue too. Standard BT Home Hub (latest version) with a few wi-fi repeaters scattered through the house. Standard BT YouView box connected through Home Plug - which means it shares a plug into the BT router with other traffic. Phone is an HTC U11+ running android 8.0.0 software number 1.24.400.3 and…

Yes, that's strange isn't it. Particularly as the problems I have been experiencing have got significantly worse. I now frequently find that I select a programme to watch in iPlayer, it then goes to the screen that tells me more about the program. I click OK and the buffering things starts to spin (as per normal) but the…

And just for completeness....the extra channels work fine through Powerline adapters!

Here's a laugh (maybe). Yesterday I received an e-mail from BT saying I could have an extra 18 channels for £2 a month (National Geo etc). The BT system never lets me sign up for things online (a technical glitch in that it doesn't believe I actually exist) so I called them today to order it and was told I had to have the…

Yes we use Powerline - Devolo dLan 200 Avmini. According to the Cockpit monitoring program that Devolo supply the YouView box is getting 174Mbps. We are on BT Infinity broadband and according to speedtest.net the performance there is 62.94 Mbps download speed.

Just to say that the fixed IP that I thought had solved the problem....didn't. Sat watching the spinning circle the other day until it failed and said there was a problem. After which I was able to restart from where I left off (that's not new - it always did that)

I changed the automatic network settings to manual (fixed IP and I used the same DNMS addresses my BT router is set to - though my computer uses the Google DNS (8.8.8.8) and that should work too. Yesterday evening I watched a 90 minute programme without interruption, except for pausing it myself when I answered the phone.…

No, haven't had that. But not being able to fast forward through the ads is a pain in the proverbial.

I must admit the phrase from the YouView rep that this is a problem most people don't have has bothered me from the beginning. Is it only me? Is it only my street? Is it only my are BT connection box? Is it my exchange? None of those seem likely. 'Most' people probably just put up with it, don't know there is a forum where…

....and the day the engineer comes it will perform flawlessly, until he drives away in his van!

David Did you lose your recordings as a result of the reset?

Peter Thompson, Interesting you say latency yo-yo's around. I have a Sam Knows box that constantly measures my download speed, upload speed, latency, packet loss etc and latency is normally very constant with the odd spike. Powerline adapters, however, cause a big hit on download speed and it varies like crazy. I have a…

On reflection I have to say I can't see the point of reporting which programme/s this buffering happens on. It happens all the time. By all means collect info on ISP/hardware/line speed etc - but programme and time of day seem to make no difference.
