When will BT sort out the software? The Youview box has been very unreliable ever since the so called update to Next Gen. I frequently feel like throwing the box out of the window. Often when re-winding live tv, it cannot be stopped until it gets to point box turned on or channel changed and cannot be fast forwarded again,…

Far from no new features, an unwanted one has been added: FAILD TO RECORD! Having just returned from working away, 14 programs failed to record. Plenty of space on hard drive, re-tuned a few days before I left. What is the point of a PER that fails to record. Every update makes it worse. My mother has a non interconnected…

Just giving me that one function back will be a huge leap forward. While I prefer the look & operational functionality of Current Gen, I would be able to live with the look & feel of Next Gen if only I could delete/hide channels. Fixing some of the bugs would also be nice........

The reason we are still with YouView, is that having parted with our hard earned cash, we now have a PVR which is functional but has been downgraded by the Manufacturer without warning. Fortunately it is not so bad we want to chuck it in the skip & part with more cash to replace it.

its not about Current Gen V. Next Gen. Its about the user experience and our opinions on the software. It just happens that in many users find how Next Gen has been implemented in 28.26.0, leaves a great deal to be desired. Comparing 28.26.0 with earlier versions is a valid method of pointing out the short comings. I for…

Thanks Vissionman, sadly I have already tried that tonight. To be told 28.26.0 is the latest available.
-
The link Visionman gave to info on 28.35.0 was dated 8th August. My box (t2100, not listed as compatible) checked for update on 18th Sept, but is still on 28.26.0. If Humax, BT or whoever is responsible would publish a timetable of when the update is likely to be rolled out to each model it would go a long way to improving…

nearly a year in and Next Generation is still inferior to Current Generation. I have been at my parents home. Who's BT YouView box is not connected to the internet, so has not had the Next Generation software update. It is so much better than my Next Generation box at home. The Guide & other lists are easer to read (white…

This has been a feature of the BT YouVew box since long before Next Generation, I have experienced it on my home system: YouView box connected to internet running latest software, HMDI into Panasonic TV & Optical into top of the range Sony AV Amp. YouView set to output Surround when available. And on my parents BT YouView…

the fact that it flicks up or down one channel is the point. It did not do this previously, and I do not like it. As I said before this is a forum for commenting on the software, that is my opinion. It's not the worst feature which a toss up between not being able to delete channels from the guide & covering the lower 1/4…

Whilst the 'annoying' way the guide now behaves is not a barrier to using the EPG as such, it unnecessarily degrades ease of use. I mainly watch BBC 1, 2, & 4, ITV, Ch 4 & Ch5. Thus I tend to navigate horisontally viewing all 6, if I want to record a BBC1 or BBC4 program, after scheduling the record, I then have to…
-
I'm not sure what you are referring to by 'tile'. The process I use: highlight program in Guide, press record button, select 'record series' option, press OK. The 'feature' whereby series records sporadically disappear from the Scheduled recordings section is extremely undesirable. This appears to happen when the program…

Bbc2 hd, university challenge Mondays, mastermind Friday's Bbc4 hd, utopia, Tuesdays Itv3, rising damp, weekdays Having re-entered them as series, university challenge was only single episode. Deleted it to re-enter & The series record appeared all by its self

The guide layout is very annoying. I can see 6 channels at a time, but can only 'highlight' or select the center 4, if I highlight the top or bottom ch, the the list jumps up or down so the highlighted one is in the middle 4. I can see no technical or aesthetic reason for this. It's particularly annoying as one can see the…

All series recordings disappeared from the Scheduled page overnight. One was recorded yesterday evening, and a single recording added to the schedule last night was in the list this morning, but none of the series. I have just re-entered them.

Why do manufacturers force this information on us when ever we use the transport keys? I can press the "i" button if I want to see it. Also why does the i button not show where I am in a recording or the time, in order to find d out how much longer a recording will last I have to pause it!
-
And how does that comment help the situation? This is not a legal niceties discussion. The point is my PVR guide is flooded with stations I have no interest in, and want to delete but am prevented from doing so. YouView do not appear to care, nor do they seem to be doing anything to restore this functionality. An estimated…

This 'feature' only exacerbates the situation. Most of the new channels are shopping and other undesirable rubbish, which are added to my box without my consent and I cannot delete them!
-
It is now over 4 months since Sanj told us: "Edit Channel feature is currently unavailable but will be making it's debut again soon". A software update appears to have been released today, which i have just installed. And surprise surprise, still no sign of being able to edit the channels list. This is a prime example of…

What is particularly frustrating, is that apart from a vague statement, we were unaware of this undesirable feature. I found more & more 'new' unwanted channels were being automatically added to my 'guide'. And when I did a re-tune, every dam channel appeared & I am stuck with wading through piles of dross to get to the…

3 months later and this basic feature is still not available. Clearly Youview don't care about their customers. Next generation is a huge step backwards
-
I agree, far to much effort is spent on flash features. Get the basics right first, then do the posh stuff. Yet again manufacturer has no idea what the customer wants
