  • Hi, Youview boxes can often be had from the likes of CEX and ebay, often unused or refurbished. Or the Manhattan T3-R seems well-reviewed and from the screenshots looks to have a very similar appearance to Youview, at least in the TV Guide.
  • Hi Claire, My box has had that same problem once or twice - ie won't play a series recording - but in my case I don't recall any issue wiht the remote at the time i think it was just one of those things. It did sort itself out in the end, I think I had to reboot the box though, so that might be worth a try - hold the…
  • @Sarah any chance these sections can be made configurable in a future update? With an ever-growing menu it's getting more cluttered, I don't want Sport or Kids sections, nor even Films or TV shows to be honest, it'd be good to have the option to turn these off
  • It doesn't even contain enough text to be useful
  • Very interesting. Top wins for me in this are: - Ability to stream around the house - Download recordings to mobile device - that lovely LIST of recordings in one of the product images
  • I have recently obtained the new Arris Freesat box (for my mother, I'm not keeping it). Interestingly, or not, this too suffers from the pointless obscured screen during FF/Rew and pause. Although on this, pressing Back does clear it in either case. While on the subject of irritations introduced by NextGen, the list v…
  • The release notes are all well and good if you know about them. but the average user who doesn't frequent this forum etc will not have a clue that anything's changed until what they're looking for isn't where they left it. @Sarah PLEASE can we have some kind of notification on screen following a new release, giving the…
  • Hello, when you say "stuck", can you use channel up/down buttons or are these locked out? I found this which tells me Arqiva Test Channel is on 795, which is the last channel on the list (at least for me) and actually I get the same message when I select it. It's possible you were on channel 1 (BBC1) and just pressed the…

Goodness that's quite a list. I can't advise on most of it but it sounds like you've had a software update; in the latest versions, Settings has moved from the menu at the bottom of the screen to the top where it is now represented by a cog icon. Just press Up when you have the menu on screen to get to it. A soft…
  • Hi Dantodan, I suspect the box is fine, I think possibly some TVs are better at switching than others. I have two Youview boxes (one BT, one Humax Retail) connected to two TVs (both LG). Both boxes turn on one of the TVs and select the appropriate HDMI when switched on. When connected to the other TV though, it's pretty…
  • Hi, I think you need to take this up with Amazon if that's where you bought it from...
  •
Hi, that should be OK, my old house was setup the same way ie different circuits for upstairs and down, into the one fustbox. Powerline Adapters worked fine for me so as long as your house wiring is in good shape you should be fine. You do need to make sure the adaptors are plugged straight into the wall and not into…
  • Have you tried connecting it directly in place of the bedroom one, using the same cable? Just in case there is a problem with the cabling to the living room...
  • I have had this exact same issue recently - BT DTR-T2110. Guide content is completely missing as described above (no programme data) hence recordings fail, on those occasions when it's in that state, although the live channels are running fine. No thumbnails as if internet not connected, but as above, iPlayer etc all work…
  • In case you do end up needing new PLAs, I was successfully using a pair of Devolo adaptors with Vodafone router.
  • Hi @Sarah Just wanted to flag up a bug not entirely unrelated to this issue. Whilst having the prompt turned on is all well and good for accidental presses of the delete button, in some cases the highlight is not where you left it and this doesn't really help. Scenario: You finish watching a recording when a new recording…
  • Another vote for the BT remote; I also hated it to begin with for the same reasons of the central buttons being too small, feeling like a bad layout and always hitting the wrong one but for me, it didn't take long to get used to it and not to even have to look. I also have the Humax remote on another box and that to me…
  • I am really annoyed about this. As a retail customer of Youview it's one of the most useful features for me and is now yet another feature of the box that I paid good money for, removed, starting with all downgrades/bugs/changes that "nextgen" brought about. I assume there is no technical reason for this, and it's simply a…
  •
YES! I've been meaning to raise this issue for some time. Specifically in the My TV screen in the main menu, if you pick a programme from the 5 that it shows eg at position 2, and a new programme begins recording whilst you watch then on stopping playback you are returned to position 2, but your program is now at…
  • Just a thought, it could be worth checking connections. I had a similar issue; picture was fine on Youview, and fine on TV when Youview was in standby. But when I turned Youview on, TV lost the HD channels completely. Aerial socket was a bit wobbly, I've replaced the socket and now no problems.
  • Hi @Frogeye , I may be able to help regarding the "no programmes" message that you're seeing with the picture. But I'm assuming that it's the TV's tuner that's lost its programmes, not the Youview box, as I had exactly the issue that you describe on my LG. By default the LG is set to scan for programme tuning updates…

Just to say on this one, mine has done the same, and I have not performed any reset (nor am I suffering the schedule issues); I think that might be one we can blame on channel 4.
  • Whilst I'm slightly disappointed that this implementation isn't to-the-minute accurate like the original, I'm very pleased firstly to see that some effort is being made, and it is absolutely better than nothing, and secondly that this proves features can be rolled out rapidly. Thanks YouView for listening (at last).…
  • Just to add a "me too" for problem 1 in particular. A number of times recently I've almost deleted the wrong thing for this reason. I've only been aware of it for the last few weeks so I assume it's a new bug. I also have the DTR T2110, same software as above. I'm also finding the box incredibly sluggish since this update.…
  • Thanks, I reckon you've saved me a few hours there... I have been recording this, but not yet started watching. I'm yet to hear any positive reviews of this series.
  •
Yeah I do feel the Watchlist could have missed a trick by not including recorded content (which, in my eyes, is the primary purpose of the box, with on-demand being secondary... or is that just me?) I'd really appreciate a way of easily returning to an episode/series that I am part-way though watching and the…
  •
Interesting - Still on 4430 and no updates available when I try a manual update.
  •
I don't appear to have it; My box is: BT Retail DTR-T2110 31.69.0component 3.5.132 platform config 4430 I assume I'd see some prompt for this on the screen? I tried holding OK as mentioned elsewhere in the thread but nothing happened. I have an LG Freeview Play TV upstairs which flashes up a (somewhat irritating)…
  • Here's another... The One Show - I wanted to catch a particular bit that was to be on at some point this week so I set a series link sometime last weekend. This recorded Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday episodes no problem. Wednesday was the item I wanted so went to cancel the series from the schedule page and it was showing…
