As long as you don’t watch any BBC channels.

Fine-tuning my Betamax recorder, why do you ask?

Merging the companies does not necessarily mean merging the technologies. The most interesting comment in there, for me, was the mention of a possible internet-only player. Which, if it is to have legs, would imply all the Freeview/Freesat cha…

So YouView will only work with a remote, and not with a Mouse? 🎦🎥

Humax have just launched the Aura, a new model of PVR, into the rapidly shrinking market for any such. It is ironic, perhaps, that its lack of the streaming service Netflix is putting off potential purchasers, and may kill it stone dead if this is …

Our handyman, wanting to preserve his access to a recent two-part programme now showing on the BBC iPlayer, and not wishing to submit to the vagaries of whether the BBC will keep it there or not, has obtained a piece of software that will copy it on…

@michellekeegan At a guess, it means there are no recordings going on, but I can’t recall ever noticing this. Can you post a screenshot showing it happening?
-
Cheers @pjtaylor49 Obviously you have BT as your ISP, and you have a NowTV subscription. But do you have BT TV? And/or do you have a NowTV subscription that is not through BT?
-
@jbuchanangb Greetings, and welcome to the Community! It sounds as if for the affected recordings you currently have, these issues are embedded in them, and so the Maintenance Mode reset cannot be expected to have fixed them 😢 But we might hope t…

BT used to make it clear that the box was yours whether you wanted it or not, but an early termination fee was due if you quit early.

They can change the T&Cs subsequently for newer customers until they are blue in the mouth, but the T&Cs that rule are the ones that were in force on the day the user agreed to be supplied with the equipment.

https://support.youview.com/youview-box/box-and-remote/checking-your-box-model/ Box models are DTR-Tnnnn or DB-Tnnnn. I don’t know where 91-00438 comes in to it. Its well worth you trying Ch5+1, to see how specific the issue might be.
-
Sure, but only in the NowTV app. You can’t watch it on the BT channel 385, even if that comes up on your EPG.
-
And give the box back the moment your contract is up.... Maybe put the TalkTalk YouView box in the loft, against the day that ever comes to pass?
-
Well, you do indeed learn something new every day! But aren’t I learning that Sony used Pioneer DVD recorders, so Sonys were cloned from Pioneers, not the other way round? So unless Sony wrote the software, or collaborated with Pioneer on it, …

Or perhaps your sarcasm is too close to your habitual negativity for us to reliably tell it apart 😢
-
@George32 Can you please describe the circumstances in which you are trying to use the Guide button, on what model of YouView device, and what happens?
-
@"John L" There are no matches for ‘Pioneer’ on that page. What am I supposed to see there, or is it a wrong link, or what?
-
@"John L" I very much doubt that Sony made your Pioneer DVD recorder. What makes you think that they did?
-
Alas yes; you will find the odd posting or two from me on there, mostly trying to help with YouView-related issues. But I haven’t been able to help much with the latest YouView issues, since how YouView is now presented seems to have changed, a…

@ligg YouView boxes have been known to have recording/playback troubles, usually cause by disc corruption and requiring a Factory Reset if the box is ever to work again, but this isn’t usually a selective thing by channel. Selective problems like…

@"John L" If you spend a little time in this unhappy place:- https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/android-tv/bd-p/Android_TV might you not conclude that once you have rescued the baby, you might also consider not hanging on to the bathwater?
-
@BigMacleod There are no non-HD YouView boxes. So your box is either a non-HDD ‘zapper’ YouView box, or not a YouView box at, but some other make of PVR. Timeshift requires recording; and yes, even the YouView ‘zapper’ boxes have the capacity to …

@jonesh Ooh, my box power cycles (which explains all those Peloton adverts), and for the other thing, all those Step One adverts.
-
I expect it tries to PING PONG and gets 100% packet loss 🏓

@handsomeinked All OLEDs are LG panels. This does not stop Sony squeezing more performance out of them with its underlying software and hardware than LG can manage, though. Re Apple TV+, LMGTFY:- https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/article…

Yeah, it can just about cope with the motion blur of cups going up to mouths, and slices of cake being partaken of 😛

@Claytoner Manually connecting requires you to know the values that you have to fill in, and entering them yourself. But if you can get to manual connect, then the box is responding to you, and you ought to be able to return to the main menu, ign…

It plays tennis as well?

@tmwgray26 Have you got STV tuned as Channel 3 on the TV?
