yeah but I really do think they have missed a few tricks, when you consider what they can now pack into small state of the art packages and even TV sets, you would think someone would sit down and say, lets combine all the good things into one super product and sell it to the masses.
-
I know it will play mkv's and mp4's is H264 format, so hi res all the way. Got DLNA on TV for the NAS drive thou and my TV plays AVI's but MKV is a bonus yeahhhhhhh

I think what we need to ask and for YouView to be open about it is this, if a provider for example CBS with there channels CBS reality etc. wanted to be on the YouView system as free to air iptv channels, is the software and system ready now to accept the said provider and would it be able to populate the epg as would a…
-
Visionman I agree, but a platform provider will always be the key in things happening, You will approach a platform provider to establish your presence on the said platform, be it a free or pay service/channel.
-
for example this appears interesting Unicast Live Stream Splitting, I wonder if YouView have thought about using it to deliver free to air channels on there system. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_n...
-
But we can discuss technology in general and what impact it has on iptv delivery hehe !!! remember it is meant to be a fun and interesting forum.
-
from what I can see you should be able to have clear ip channels streamed over a normal internet connect about 3 meg, I am not asking for the package that TT and BT have got, the system should be universal considering they sell a retail box, I think this needs to be addressed by YouView and made clear if we will get any…
-
what he is giving bt and tt a new head ?
-
Remove my reply but this still makes me fuming mad quoted from the interview "The fact that we have IP channels is huge. It really does make YouView unique and we delivered all of that on time" Retails customers are not getting a sniff of what YouView claims to have delivered, Donot give misleading interviews when retail…
-
This statement has annoyed me no end "The fact that we have IP channels is huge. It really does make YouView unique and we delivered all of that on time" Where the F_ck are my ip channels as a retail viewer ? proves YouView is leaning so much towards TT and BT, retail viewers are seen as pests no doubt.
-
This release will provide performance improvements including optimisation of the hard disk have they simply updated the Linux core then ?
-
Yes the new update includes a night shift moderator lol
-
agree
-
The BT home Hub will be geared towards streaming no doubt

I can confirm my box has been updated to latest software, Huawei box bought off eBay and on another ISP
-
I have a Huawei box, setting it to go to standby after 4 hours so it sleeps a little over night tends to cure the slowness, I think this is a software issue if both Humax and Huawei suffer the same problems, as I to tend to suffer from slow channel changing and slow response for the EPG to load
-
Woke up this morning and went to work, I am involved in a challenging job, can I apply for the role of customer liaison and feedback administrator with YouView please, I have two eyes and two ears and fingers that can type. I feel I am qualified.
-
Well it must be in someone's interest to sort the mess out and hence dominate the market early !!!
-
This is true, I can load the graphics on god tv channel but then it just does not bring up the picture, this is the same on all the iptv channels on my LG Smart 3D TV http://www.lg.com/uk/tvs/lg-47LW550T-... Spoke to LG about this and they confirmed it is not compatible and no plans to make it so, which is annoying as when…
-
good to see that confirmed then for defo
-
fair comment DM will look more closely then, I know my TV is ok because I can view god tv but it buffers so bad even on a 12 meg or so connection but I cannot record via the TV sadly
-
I agree with what VuTV are saying totally !!! that is not even part of the argument I am putting forward for debate.
-
And also may I add, if anyone does strongly disagree with what I am trying to say, then please point me to a web link on either the TT, BT or YouView site that clearly states, "Even thou you can receive the Freeview HD channels, The YouView system is not of standard Freeview HD specification, therefore you may be unable to…
-
Yes I have !! I believe the Humax T2 is a standard spec Freeview HD box, as for you not agreeing then you need to check the BT website and read "BT TV brings you Freeview HD" it is a CLEAR AND BOLD STATEMENT and for the record I clearly and boldly do not agree with you saying that you do not agree with me and offer no…
-
Yes I am aware of this, I read it on there website, I am asking YouView (as a partner collective) about compatibility not VUTV, and also why there partner BT give quit a vivid impression that the YouView box is Freeview HD . as quoted on the BT website "BT TV brings you Freeview HD", this clearly suggests/implies to a…
-
Gomez on this occasion I feel I have to agree to disagree, and to a general consumer at which the box is aimed, it is misleading information or wording, point is, a consumer probably will buy this box thinking is it compatible with all Freeview HD services/add ons.
-
"brings you" has the same meaning or suggestion that the box is a Freeview HD box, no where that I can see does anyone state "YouView is not compatible with Freeview HD services or specification"
-
As a retail customer and not having a TT/BT connection, I want to bring this topic back to life and ask YouView why the YouView box is not compatible with the upcoming service VUTV, as a retail customer this service would allow me access to a new array of entertainment, but I feel saddened that the option is not even open…
