Let's hope the Pro follows the profile of U shaped valley then (to offer a different analogy) rather than V.

Yes, sorry. If I could work out how to delete my **** I would.

Didn't look too closely at the portal but we are currently watching Netflix so may have to bring Roku stick back into use. Cheers. Another quick question. Where's the best place to ask about moving stored recordings from PVR-9200T and DTR-T2100 to HDR-2000T?
-
Sorry for not being clear. The "old Humax" with no problems was a PVR-9200T (nor does the TV have any reception problems.) The one we've had for the last few years DTR-T2100 which struggled with many of the SD channels. Yasha Noke Thanks for the info. I would be shocked if our signal was TOO strong but I am looking at what…

I'm sure you're aware of iPlayer http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006m9ry/broadcasts/2015/08

What's on channels 800 and 801?
-
We're all a little confused. First there is no link between Bt Infinity and HD channels. You don't have Infinity (you have standard broadband) and so the BT package for you (with hard drive) is Essential. You will be able to view and record all "freeview" channels, including HD. BT Sport is a problem on standard broadband.…
-
Not an answer (but is key) - do you have BT Infinity?

A couple of questions before the experts arrive:-) 1. is ECO mode HIGH (takes the unit a couple of mins to startup) or LOW try it on LOW 2. does a manual record work (just press record while watching a program on a channel which failed to record) 3. what's the signal quality+strength on a channel(s) that failed to record…

I'm taking my laptop there this weekend; I'll plug it in and take it from there. Not being a router expert I just wondered if the symptoms we were getting indicated that mac filtering was taking place. (or something else?!?!) Definitely no go automatically; a bit surprised it "connected to router" manually (but no Youview…
-
Thanks - owner doesn't want me to touch the router in case I make things worse:-) The wifi "guest" account I guess is nothing to do with ethernet connections. Apart from a mac-white list could anything else prevent the router "routing" humax client data? My next visit will include taking long ethernet cable and a laptop. I…

Doesn't the YV remote TV/AV button allow you to switch sources (OK its not auto-switching but you said you just wanted to get rid of the TV remote). e.g. https://support.youview.com/articles/Self_Service_FAQ/How-do-I-control-my-TV-with-my-YouView-remote-control-1370864295511

Hmmm. Better. (Wed 11/02/15, 8pm). On youview playback its nearly correct 4:3. With the TV set to 16:9 or "Best fit" the pic is slightly stretched (characters obviously "fat"). I had to select "wide zoom" to get the correct aspect - losing some of the top and bottom.
-
Excellent. The youveiw recording of this "failed" last night - very odd - but will see tonight. Interestingly our "backup" recording plan - on our old 9200T - reverted back to how it records ALL True Entertainment channels (too wide) which indicates that it has indeed been fixed.
-
Using an old 9200T, all TE programmes are stretched (no black bars) EXCEPT Avengers which is... correct 4:3 aspect. So we (well my better half) has a fix. Just as well I didn't throw the old box out.
-
The problem (avengers only?) is mentioned here. It may be solved by setting a "LQ screen resolution"?!? (I set the aspect to 16:9 to solve it on the TV.) http://forums.bigfinish.com/threads/4856-David-Keel-on-UK-repeats-from-Monday!
-
"Does this chime in with what you see, both on the TV and from the YouView box, with the TV set to 16:9?" Cheers Roy - I find this very difficult to explain in words... The TV is fine EXCEPT I have to override the default "auto-wide" setting and set it to 16:9 to get correct aspect (whether topped/bottomed or whatever).…
-
I'm sure its just True Entertainment. 99% of their output is 4:3 with black bars. I don't know why The Avengers is different. Yes, I'm sure "stretchyvision" is at work when we select 16:9 on the TV - no black borders anywhere - but the aspect is correct - and I guess the top and bottom have been cut. I took some pictures.…
-
Right, The Avengers was on again tonite. On the TV ("wide") the program is squashed from the right and left. Switching the TV to 16:9 gave the right aspect (True Entertainment logo in top-left; not sure if top/bottom cut off). Of-course the youview box (hdmi to TV) has no aspect control (as far as I know) and so we just…

Yes, Sky are very keen to get people hooked into nowtv (entertainment, sport or film) on youview (film only) or computer or the nowtv box itself. Its a very good box (thinking ease of use, releiable wi-fi). Current best offer for the box itself (hdmi to TV) is £20 @curry's with 3 months' entertainment included.…
-
Excuse me for interrupting. Try blue button, settings, device management and "player update" I guess is the option "update on demand players".
-
(way) off-topic but you can also get Sky Arts via the Nowtv Entertainment Pass (and you can get a free three month trial of the Nowtv Entertainment Pass if you have a Chromecast...) Phew.
-
The question is... in 100 years time will there be just as many cables behind our boxes as there are now :-) Wireless 240V A/C is the interesting one.

Part 2 - add the DVD recorder. 1. unplug coax from TV and connect to dvd recorder IN 2. add a new coax from dvd recorder OUT to TV 3. connect dvd recorder to TV with scart or HDMI Now what works and what doesn't work?
-
Step1. Ignore the DVD recorder. 1. Connect Aerial to youviewbox IN 2. connect HDMI from youviewbox to TV 3. IF YOU NEED TO SET TV/AV to "TV" - to use the TV tuner - then you also have to add a coax from youviewbox OUT Does this work? (have to play about with youview settings as stated above to get TV to display picture…
-
Ahhh - so you also want a coax cable from DVD recorder OUT to go to the TV? (I guess like you did when you didn't have a Youviewbox?)
-
Aerial -> Youviewbox IN Coaxial lead from Youviewbox OUT -> DVD recorder For the second connection to work go to Youviewbox Settings and ensure that Eco Low mode is selected. EDIT: I assume you then connect the Youviewbox to TV via HDMI and DVD recorder to TV via SCART (or HDMI). Us the TV AV switch to select Youviewbox or…
-
My 9200T manual says VCR SCART output (CVBS or S-Video).
-
The youview box. What model is it? The hardrive recorder. What model is it?
-
The TV is the "destination" for all "source" devices such as youview box, hard drive recorder, dvd player etc. So, connect youview box to TV HDMI1, hardrive recorder to scart1, DVD player to scart2. As for aerial it goes -> youview box -> hard drive recorder -> TV. As the youview box is a harddrive recorder do you really…
