  • I've had Plusnet Fibre Extra for a couple of years and it's been pretty solid. The Router supplied by Plusnet is called a 'Hub One' and is a Plusnet branded version of the BT Home Hub 5a. You can use a BT Smart Hub (I do myself), but you'll have to purchase one, they are usually available on certain Auction Websites!
  • Following the announcement that several subscription channels are being removed from the Plusnet TV line-up I decided to take advantage of their offer to cancel Plusnet TV with no early termination charges (I only got Plusnet TV last September). At least Plusnet are letting customers keep the Youview boxes though. I…
  • You're right, Plusnet does really seem to emphasising it's supposed budget credentials. They also don't seem in any hurry to offer FTTP (which is now available where I live). Personally I can't see the sense in getting BTTV as it's mostly just Now TV.
  • Plusnet have announced that from 19/1/2021 they will no longer be selling their Youview TV service. Existing TV customers will see no change, for now at least anyway. I guess it's another nail in Youview's Coffin :/
  • I encountered exactly the same problems deedee36 on my T2100, I posted about it in another thread. They say they’ve fixed all of these issues on the Live TV side of Now TV but sadly that isn’t my experience, not at all. They are yet to come up with a fix for the similar problems with the On Demand side of Now TV. I’ve…
  • I have also encountered the above problem. I used to try and record the Series ‘The Daily Show’ on Comedy Central HD (Plusnet Channel 370) and the schedule often changes, resulting in the ‘Scheduling Problem’ issue, which cannot be deleted on my T2100. However, I have managed to delete it using the BTTV app by going into…

I’ll stick with the Youview app for now. I’ve ordered an HDMI Switch so I can have my Now TV Smart box permanently connected to my TV (I’ve ran out of HDMI sockets you see). I suppose it could just be a fault with my box, I guess I won’t know until more reports come in from other users about the update. I’ve only seen…
  • So I connected my Youview+ Box by Ethernet and once again I opened up Sky Sports News and left it running while I went out, it was probably for around 2 hours. When I got home there was an error message on screen, ‘Oops, something’s gone wrong’. I think I can say that it appears that there’s still problems with this app.…
  • Unfortunately I’m having problems again. I was just watching Sky Sports News when the dots appeared on screen. The app was totally unresponsive so I had to press ‘close’ on the remote. It seems like the Box had, once again, lost it’s Broadband Connection but worse still the only way I could get the box to work at all was…
  • BT, Retail and even TalkTalk Boxes will work with the Plusnet Subscription Channels. Plusnet’s official line is that they don’t work but it seems they have to order a new Box to provision the Plusnet TV service on your line, many people just order the Zapper box for £6.99 and then use their own box. If you look at the…
  •
Yes, I subscribe to the Plusnet Entertainment channels which are broadly similar to the old BT Classic Entertainment (except on Plusnet you get BT Sport 1 included, but you don’t get AMC). The BT Box works fine, in fact I believe that any Youview box will work, even a TalkTalk or Retail box. Only 1 Youview box can be…
  • I do hope Plusnet boxes will get the update soon. Even though I’m a Youview from Plusnet customer I’m currently using an ex BT-T2100 so that’s probably why I have already received the update.
  • Hi again. So I decided to leave the Now TV live stream of Sky Sports News running while I went out for a good few hours this afternoon (which was for at least 3 hours). I’m happy to say that when I got home the channel was still playing happily, with no error messages on screen. This was while the Youview+ Box was still…
  • Hi again. I use Powerline Adapters as it’s not really feasible (or desirable!) for me to permanently hard wire the box however, I will certainly try to temporarily connect my Youview+ Box to my BT Home Hub 6 with an Ethernet Cable at some point over the weekend. In the meantime I did run a Maintenance Mode reset (2nd…
  • Unfortunately I have once again encountered a problem which seems to be because my Youview Box is losing the Broadband Connection while using the Now TV app, this time it was while watching Sky Sports News live. The coloured dots appeared and a minute or so later a message appeared saying ‘Unknown Page Error. - Something’s…
  •
I use a BT Home Hub 6 for my Plusnet Fibre service and it always reboots itself once the System Uptime reaches 14 days, it does so when the Router is next in an idle state. However, in this instance this is definitely not the reason why my Youview+ Box lost it’s Broadband Connection. I’m just hoping that this was an…
  • I’m afraid I have bad news ☹️ I was watching ‘Divide and Conquer’ on Now TV and the dreaded coloured dots made an re-appearance. I tried to pause and restart the stream but it wouldn’t restart. I closed the Now TV app and it appeared that my Youview+ Box didn’t have a Broadband Connection however, there was nothing wrong…
  • I believe that the £199.99 figure quoted is the full price that Plusnet claim to charge to replace a Youview+ Box if you have already been supplied with one for £57.99 (Activation Free £50.00 and P&P £7.99). But I agree that you’re quite right to say the Plusnet TV T&C’s are a Rabbit Warren 😀
  • My T2100 has updated to the new software and, fingers crossed, the Now TV app seems to be very stable when watching both Live and On Demand content. There no longer appears to be any sound dropouts, or buffering. This is great news! Thank you for your help 😀
  • I’m also a Plusnet TV customer and (as far as I’m aware) their Youview Box Ownership Rules did not change when BT announced that their Youview Boxes are only to loaned to customers. I believe that you are still free to keep the Youview Box once you have completed your minimum term contract. Then again, at £58 the upfront…
  • I can definitely confirm that the Now TV app is troublesome on my Youview from Plusnet TV Service using a T2100 Box. When I used it to watch on demand programming (The Comey Rule) I also encountered the ‘Something Went Wrong’ error, as well as constant buffering and sound dropouts. Going by the amount of posts on the BTTV…
  • Re: my previous post, I’m afraid I spoke too soon! I’m watching Sky Sports News right now and there are constant sound dropouts. I timed one and it lasted a full 8 seconds. Also, there appears to be sporadic buffering too (the little coloured dots on the screen). I think I’m going to give up on trying to use Now TV on my…
  • I have been having a look at the different audio settings on my Hisense TV (B7500). I turned off the Surround Sound option on the TV and turned off Surround Sound on my Plusnet Youview Box and, fingers crossed, the sound problems with the Now TV app seem to have stopped (for now at least anyway). I should mention that I…
  • I thought I’d try Now TV again using the app on my Plusnet Youview Box. I’m watching Sky Sports News right now and when I first started watching the sound dropouts seemed worse than ever. The dropouts lasted for over 5 seconds, and this continued for a good 5 minutes. Now the dropouts seem less frequent, but still occur…
  • Hi. I have a Plusnet Youview Box and i’ve certainly experienced similar sound dropouts when using the Youview Now TV app. I tried the Maintenance Mode reset (option 2 to keep recordings) but it didn’t fix the problem. I also tried changing the HDMI Audio from Surround to Stereo, this didn’t fix the problem either. I had a…
  •
Same here, it’s been rock solid 100% Signal Quality since changing the HDMI Cable 😀
  • I’ve been having a think about when the issues I encountered with the BBC B Mux started. It could well have happened after the retune event on 12 August 2020 and, while I didn’t notice the problem for quite some time after the retune date, I think it’s a safe bet that that’s when the problems started. Fancy that, all we…
