i very much approve of improvements for obvoius reasons, just wondering what the way forward is. if you know what i mean as no one seems to listen and there never seems to be any type of speculation or news regarding youview etc. when i heard of YV it seems to fit my needs and with added features to be 'expected' i was…
-
ah rite phil,so thats it? i think youll find that the list are all features that are very much demanded, were you down the pub when you casually replied to having an 'official response'?
-
yes quite an exhaustive list of ......ahem....... 'improvements', maybe it should be requested the box come with ears and maybe some form of processor.
-
i was actually referring to the twitter snippet on the post, but yes the hudl seems interesting. hopefully we can embrace the digital service like we ought to without drm making a mockery of it and without arguments like there is now concerning a hard copy or not for the xbox one, which does nothing for the entertainment…
-
sorry could you eloborate, just googled and couldnt find a connection between 'the hudl' and youview. if its another app for tablets and smartphones then yes, very fashionable and forward thinking.
-
wonder if it might actually be ISP/major shareholders (tt / bt) refusing to allow access to netflix/LF as it takes too much bandwidth, esp netflix with hd. or even BBC as it will undermine their bs service.
-
LOL wonder what the big plan is, declare bankruptcy and go into administration!
-
have you paired the powerline adapters? if not then they wont talk to each other and wont give signal to the box which is why you will get the error message. they will work with extension cables but not those with surge protection
-
to answer the question, i dont know. no one from youview has suggested that dnla will be implemented in the future and no one has officially explained why its not capable as is right now, just like many other features that could prove to be useful and make the 'box' a product of the millennium. and i should agree that…

i thought bt had gone linux just recently? giving all of their bt vision subscribers trouble.
-
the other channels were in fact discovery etc not actual padding of their sports offerings
-
of what ive understood bt are also launching another 20 or so ip delivered channels on top of the sport channels this summer so it seems like it might become a decent contender in the tv sector.
-
back in early year 2000 i subscribed to sky and was given the new sky+ with record function, ability to pause rewind etc and a programe set reminder. what i really enjoyed about it was being able to go forward through the epg and see what was coming up in the weeks tv, i really did thing it was fantastic T.D.B infact. ive…

anything!! something!!

currys are reducing prices of the humax box, probs cos of new models but seeing the humax in the clearance section did spell it out a bit without there being an alternative at the shop. still overpriced at 2T
-
i use ad blocker and ghostery for the annoyance of adverts taking over the web, using bandwidth and slowing down the loading of pages on my PC and my little lad opening the 'pop ups'. with how popular these plug ins have become its a pain that broadcasters are trying to find other commercial distractions, so yes give me an…

then why hasnt CEO Richard Halton implemented this in the YV software? it was a little sarcasm actually martin, really wouldnt care whos job it is to 'overview' the development, that decision would largely lie with the shareholders rather than the management whom we have all understood to be holding the 'potential' back a…

my new tv has the rovi epg and has this feature that i thought was rather cool. why hasnt lord sugar implemented this in the YV software?
-
have to admit that the bbc as much as i hate the squandering of licence fee really are providing a 'decent' service, the choice on the iplayer, radio a hd and also the childrens content and its accessibility. i mean where is the catch up programmes of the other providers?
-
ive done all of these procedures, i just dont understand how when the YV box is on the tv doesnt display freeview but does when the YV box in stand by. will the YV' pvr record and what will happen when it does if id prefer to use the tv freeview to watch a live broadcast.
-
ive had similar problems whilst recording on bbc 1 then to find that the box is recording a repeat but on bbc 3. ive never bothered looking at why and i really didnt care, i dont know where the recording has gone if its overwritten the original or if its decided that it already has the file in the hdd, but, on the epg it…

doubt ill ever go out of my way to buy an iphone or an android if ever id need one. good idea and should be an easy alternative for the youview team to implement.
-
or wait as 'the lord' has said prices will be coming down, if you dont want to pay the 2 ton plus price tag.
-
not yet! the bbc seem to be the driving force behind the iplayer and it being implemented on every device no question asked.
-
i havent had any software issues with my box, so all i want is smart features as it was designed for. access to more on demand not a half arsed effort bbc iplayer that they hope will keep us paying the licence fee.
-
run b4 it can walk, stop this you dont get a new car model with single pot hand crank do you. why reason with that reply that the box is inferior to other pvr'? humax have been doing pvr for years and the YV partners have been doing tv for years, they know what we want they just havent issued it.
-
a one box does all eh?
-
all forums are glum, look at any car forum and youd think there was no end to diy mech but i dont see the rac on every corner.
-
unsatisfied with freetime from freesat, id like to know why. it has usb and supports dnla and has the features that youview has but from what i can make out from your post doesnt work all that well. im in a freeview light area, ill swap my humax YV for your freesat with freetime, how about that?
-
on the bt forum some users with the bt vision black box could have multi room others could not. its not something that bt have implemented (but are meant to be working on?) but seem to work for some.
